Safety is our top priority at Alpha Dog Daycare. We treat your dog as a member of our family and prepare ourselves to handle any sudden illness or injury. Did you know that first aid for dogs is different than it is for people?
We want you to know the difference and to be prepared to help when your dog needs you the most: in an emergency. Your dog stops breathing, breaks a bone or suddenly becomes ill. Will you know what to do?
We are partnering with the Oregon American Red Cross to offer Dog First Aid Training at our facility on specific Saturdays throughout the year from 10AM to 12:30PM.
The course will explain how to perform rescue breathing, treat shock, respond to choking, stop bleeding, care for a suspected fracture and handle other sudden illnesses including poisoning. You will also learn how to include your dog in your family emergency preparedness plan. There is a fee for the class. Being prepared to save your dog’s life is worth it.
We encourage you to sign up for the class so you will be ready to handle any emergency your dog experiences. You can also call 503-280-1440 to register. You will practice on dog manikins; so your dog can stay home and sleep in. |
